OUR HISTORY

In the early nineteen hundreds (c. 1907), several faithful believers were instrumental in establishing the beginning of our church. Among these were Eva Hudson Caldwell, Lena Cooper, Mose Taylor, Fannie Orme, Nannie Lewis, and Mary Burford.

The first location of our church was a rented storefront at 21st and Flora in Kansas City, Missouri. Through the missionary zeal of Eva Caldwell and Lena Cooper, the congregation prospered and in the fall of 1911 moved to Third Street and Washington in Kansas City, Kansas. And in 1940, under the leadership of Rev. Goff D. Young, the church built its present main structure.

Throughout its rich history, our church has had several faithful pastors who have led and blessed our church. In May of 2004, our current pastor, Rev. Timothy L. Jones, was called to lead us into following the footsteps of the God-fearing pastors who came before him. On August 22, 2010, after prayerfully seeking the will of God for our church, the congregation accepted God’s vision for the church and became New Seasons Christian Church.

INVOLVEMENT, INVESTING & INVITING

We faithfully believe that it is God’s desire that His church grows, moves forward, and meets the needs of people. For that to happen, it requires a believer’s involvement, investment, and that they invite the unsaved to experience their church which is led by the Holy Spirit and committed to Jesus Christ.

The Three I's
WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible written Word of God.

We believe in and worship the triune God, one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that sin resulted in the fall of humanity and led to separation from God. We believe humanity is sinful by nature and by choice, and is in need of a Savior for redemption and restoration to a relationship to God.

We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, both fully God and fully human. We believe that His crucifixion and death was the ransom for sin. We further believe in the resurrection of Jesus and by faith in Him, a person can be restored to a right relationship with God. We believe that Jesus is currently seated at the right hand of God the Father, with all power in His hands.

We further believe in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary as the only answer to humanity’s sin problem. We believe that salvation is obtained by grace through faith, and All who confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, shall be saved. Romans 10:9-10

We believe that the Holy Spirit initiates the process of salvation and is active in the conviction, conversion, and regeneration of the believer. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gifts every believer with spiritual gifts for the purpose of furthering the work and kingdom of God.

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ to ransom the church and to judge the world. We believe in the new heaven and the new earth, and that God will judge and reward us according to our works.
